  Ferraro will be leading a session called Building a Working Partnership with the Publicly Funded Workforce System. Ferraro will share his experience on the State Workforce Board of Virginia, the local Workforce Board in Northern Virginia and his involvement with other publicly funded workforce programs. He will also discuss One-Stop Career centers, tax credits and training grants available to businesses to enhance employee skills. Attendees will come away with a strategy and a check list to take back to their organizations to engage in the system.

Ferraro will share information from two recent studies on workforce readiness: Are They Really Ready for Work and the US Chamber of Commerce State by State K-12 Education Report Card. Attendees will learn the challenge employers currently have to find skilled workers and how only through their active participation in the education and workforce system, can the outcomes change.
