GOVERNOR WARNER REAPPOINTS C. MICHAEL FERRARO TO THE VIRGINIA WORKFORCE COUNCIL
July 29, 2003, Fairfax, VA. Governor Warner has reappointed C. Michael Ferraro, President/CEO of TRAINING SOLUTIONS, Inc., to the Commonwealth of Virginia's Workforce Council for a four-year term, beginning July 1, 2003.
Ferraro states, "I am truly honored and excited to be part of this important council for the next four years. Governor Warner has recently appointed Dr. Barbara Bolin as the new Workforce Special Advisor, and I am also looking forward to her involvement in our efforts."
According to Susan Baker, VP of Workforce Development for the Northern Virginia Technology Council, "NVTC is excited that Michael Ferraro will have the opportunity to positively impact the Commonwealth's initiatives for another four years by serving an additional term on the Governor's State Workforce Council. His contributions are highly valued as our NVTC Board liaison for workforce, and we look forward to his continued excellent service to both organizations."
The Virginia Workforce Council is made up of business and community leaders across the Commonwealth. The council works to promote a well-trained, highly educated, highly skilled and qualified workforce that is activity engaged in lifelong learning across the state. The council also serves as the State Board for the federal Workforce Investment Act and is made up of 29 members, which includes the Governor and three cabinet members.
Ferraro is the founding president and CEO of TRAINING SOLUTIONS, Inc., an 8-year old Fairfax-based premier provider of professional development training and HR consulting services (www.trainingsolutions.com). The firm provides diverse development and training services for a variety of small and Fortune 1000 companies across the nation. In addition to serving on the Virginia Workforce Council, Ferraro is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Northern Virginia Technology Council and the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce; the Board of Trustees of the Northern Virginia Technology Council Foundation, the Northern Virginia Business Roundtable, the Workforce Investment Board of Northern Virginia and is a 1998 graduate of Leadership Fairfax.
